Relocation and upgrading of all mechanicals throughout home with a focus on energy efficiency and performance. Several home monitoring systems were installed as well to detect potential leaks and energy use and protect the clients investment. Custom LED lighting was used to create ambient light in the public spaces without adding exposed fixtures to the house.

Two main goals for the project were to bring the home into the modern era for a more comfortable and grown up living experience while maintaining details that were consistent to the original home. The second was to source as many materials as possible from California. The homeowner, a bay area transplant, is the embodiment of the California lifestyle and enjoyed the process of connecting his home to the golden state.

The home was taken down to the studs and the original concrete slab was removed for foundation upgrades, new drains and mechanicals under-slab. Gentle changes were made to the floor-plan to open up the space and bring in more natural light and create a more cohesive experience.
